Privacy
Last updated September 2026. Short version: we keep what you give us, show what you chose to show, and sell nothing.
Who we are
Table & Cup is a small site about home coffee, run by two people. For anything about your data, write to hello@tableandcup.com.
What we keep
- Your account. Your email address. You sign in with a link we email you, or with Google. If you use Google, Google tells us your email address and your basic profile; we only use the email. We never see or store a password.
- Your profile. A handle and a name (made from your email at first, yours to change), and your taste: how bitter, sour and sweet you can take it, shown as positions on three lines.
- What you add. Gear and bags you say you have, the photos you upload, your votes, the cups you post, the cups you mark as “I made it”, and your private Want to try list. We also keep reports you submit and records of moderation decisions.
- Ordinary server logs. Our hosting provider records requests (such as IP address and browser) to keep the site running and safe.
What other people can see
- Your name, handle, taste and published content are public. Your email address is not public.
- Your published cups and reviewed gear photos. Photos of things you own appear on that item’s page without your name.
- Your votes only as part of a percentage. Nobody sees how you voted.
- Your email address, Want to try list, reports, and pending or returned ownership photos are not shown publicly.
- Coffee bags appear before we verify their details, with a note when verification is still pending.
What we use it for
To run the site: sign you in, show what you posted, count owners and votes, and review photos so the numbers mean something. We do not sell your data, we do not show ads, and we do not send marketing email. Apart from sign-in links you request, we only email you about outcomes for your gear, coffee bags, cups or account.
Cookies
We use cookies to keep you signed in and remember your Coffee tab. No advertising cookies.
Counting visits
We count page views with Vercel Web Analytics. It sets no cookies, does not follow you to other sites and does not tell us who you are; we see totals such as which pages were opened, from which country and on what kind of device.
Links to Amazon
Links go to Amazon. When you follow one, Amazon’s own privacy policy applies there. We do not learn who bought what.
Who helps us run the site
Supabase (database, sign-in and photo storage), Vercel (hosting and visit counts), Resend (gear, coffee bag, cup and account outcome emails), an email service for sign-in links, and Google if you choose to sign in with Google. They process data on our behalf.
Where your data is
In the United States. Our database, sign-in and photos are with Supabase in its East US region, and the site is served by Vercel. If you use the site from another country, your data is sent to and kept in the United States.
Keeping and deleting
You can delete a cup from its page. Its likes, made-its and saved references are removed with it. Photos used by another cup or coffee bag remain with that content. We keep a record of the deletion, including the cup name and date, without keeping the deleted cup’s photos or text in that record.
You can change your name and taste on Me, and change your handle once. To delete your whole account, or to get a copy of what we hold about you, write to hello@tableandcup.com from the address you signed up with. We delete within 30 days. We keep your data for as long as your account exists.
Age
The site is not meant for anyone under 16. If you believe a child has signed up, tell us and we will remove the account.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that matters, we will say so on the site before it takes effect. The date at the top is the latest version.
